What? Me worry?

The cold is coming!

The way they have been talking on the radio, you’d think it’s going to be the end of civilization as we know it. Okay, so it has been 50 below in Alaska... they’re surviving aren’t they?

But they are saying it’s coming this way, and it’s going to be 10 below by Friday.

We live in an old house, and I am pretty sure there is ZERO insulation. So I am thinking, How are we going to afford the heating bill?!!!!

There’s something I could worry about...

I am a master worrier.

Or I was.

But the other day a thought came to me. I asked myself...

Do you believe God is there or not?

Because if you don’t really believe it, then just be honest and admit it. Quit playing this game. Quit pretending that you do. Quit calling yourself a Christian, quit saying a bunch of stuff you don’t really believe.

Well, that caught me up short!

Of course I believe God is there! I believe He loves me. I believe He can and will keep His promise to care for me (“Do not be anxious about what you will eat or what you will wear!”). And if I believe that, worry just doesn’t fit.

Worry says I really DON’T believe it.

So it became pretty simple.

Do I believe God or not?

Yes I do!

Then worrying makes absolutely no sense at all. To worry would just be crazy.

hmmm.... maybe that’s my problem!

What do you think?
